2024 Partner Update

2024 was a growing year for Hope Care Centre. We served approximately 60 people this year. Thanks to our generous church supporters, many of these people were able to find help and hope at a cost they could afford or for free. One of our clients was told there was a three-year wait to see a psychiatrist for free through our healthcare system here. We are so privileged to walk alongside people in their journeys within weeks or even days of their inquiring. 

This year, we were able to help other churches by answering questions from leadership and helping them implement our Abuse Prevention and Response Curriculum. Jennifer also had the opportunity to speak at a church’s small group leadership meeting on creating a culture of care within their churches.

Jennifer spoke at several conferences, camps, and events this year, and Hope Care Centre hosted its first conference in May. Love Well Conference featured Dr. Gary Chapman, Eliza Huie, and Jennifer and had 100 people in attendance. A team from the US came and volunteered to help us run the conference, and they were a huge blessing. 

Jennifer also had the privilege of running two cohorts this year: one for Pastors in the Aspen Network, where we studied creating a culture of care, grief, and chronic illness, and one for the women of CNBC, covering a new topic each month for four months. She also created several new resources for the church.

We wish we could tell you more stories and details, but we cannot for privacy reasons. Please know that the Spirit is changing the lives of those in need.

As we look ahead to 2025, would you pray with us for more financial support? There are so many people in need of mental and spiritual care who cannot afford traditional counseling, and we need more church partners to cover the needs here. We also need guidance and direction on where to go next. Jennifer already has two speaking engagements lined up for January and February, and another church is ready to use the Abuse Curriculum, which will be onboarded in February. More resources will come out in early spring, and we pray they will be a blessing to the church. We are also preparing to become a training centre for lay counselors in Calgary to help churches carry the needed support. We are excited about all God did in 2024 and know he can do more in 2025!
